Extravasation Management

1. Stop infusion immediately

2. Leave catheter in place

3. Aspirate drug from line

4. Inject phentolamine (α-blocker) through catheter

5. Remove catheter while injecting

6. Use 25G needle → inject around site (3, 6, 9, 12 o’clock)

7. Mark skin and reassess

👉 Prevents tissue necrosis
